Re: paracho guitars..?
02/25I know this is an old post but I think people need to know. Paracho rocks. if you have the chance, then go, and take money. The more you spend, the better guitar you can buy. I have two guitars from Paracho. I have one basic guitar, and entry level worth about 500 pesos. it plays very well and has a nice tone. The other one is a flamenco style guitar, with an electronic pick-up. I bought it at one of the Amezcua family shops. They have been making guitars for over 130 years in this family. I would encourage you to go. The guitars are superior to the cheap guitars from China and Korea. A word of caution: The hotels in Paracho are mediocre at best. If you don't go expecting amenities and luxury, then you'll be fine. it also helps to speak Spanish, because very few people in Paracho speak English. I plan to go back. You could spend days in this place, just trying instruments. -

Re: paracho guitars..?
03/20I went to paracho once already I unfortunatly didnt spend as much as I wished, I am thinking of going back though, I am looking for a flamenco guitar, but I am not sure about any luthiers who make a decent guitar. My last purchase was a classical by Salvador Plasencia Maldonado, it is decent and I feel I got my monies worth. I just wish I purchased a flamenco instead.
